Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Quarry) to join our field team. The role involves operating heavy construction equipment and learning drilling and blasting techniques in a quarry setting.

Compensation includes an hourly rate of $20–$22 plus travel stipend, with opportunities for advancement within a majority employee-owned ESOP company that provides robust benefits including 401(k) and health plans.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful.
• Must hold a valid Driver's License with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment per instruction from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators.
• Maintain safety and work in varying weather environments.
• Travel out of town and overtime may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient operation of equipment.
• Adhere to Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and execute patterns as established by the Blaster Foreman.
• Inventory accessories and understand cost/maintenance.
• Communicate problems to Blaster/Foreman.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and timecards timely.
• Coordinate supplies with Blaster.
• Participate in Foreman/Safety/Job meetings.
• Complete Driller I training within designated period.
• Work unsupervised with urgency.
