Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is seeking a Drill Services Superintendent to lead the district contractor drilling fleet, ensuring safe, efficient execution and compliance with NGM and Barrick standards. This hands-on leadership role focuses on governance, performance, and continuous improvement across drilling programs.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mine drilling and 5+ years in leadership with contractor coordination, plus deep knowledge of drilling methods and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in mine drilling projects and commercial drilling contracts.
• Minimum five (5) years in a leadership role overseeing multiple drilling contracts and/or projects.
• Strong working knowledge of drilling practices including Diamond Drilling (DD), Reverse Circulation (RC), and Sonic drilling.
• Demonstrated experience managing drilling contractors and coordinating multiple programs.
• Proven ability to provide technical governance and operational leadership in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of drilling safety, contractor management, operational risk, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor Drill Services teams and drilling contractors, promoting safety culture, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Oversee HS&E performance across all drilling activities, ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Own drilling contractor management including scope development, performance oversight, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical governance of drilling programs for safe, fit-for-purpose execution.
• Plan and oversee district-wide drilling programs and rig movements for efficient delivery.
• Maintain application of Barrick Global Drilling Standard across operations.
• Drive technical development within Geology and Drilling Services through coaching and standardized practices.
• Collaborate with geologists, contractors, and site operations to develop programs, communicate risks, and optimize execution.
• Review drilling requirements, methodologies, contractor capabilities, risks, and performance to meet objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and sound judgment for complex drilling challenges.
• Establish expectations with contractors and teams, ensuring safe execution.
