Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Drilling Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will partner with Drilling Services and Geology to ensure drilling programs are executed according to plan and in compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental policies and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of exploration drilling experience, with air rotary and core drilling knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years of underground and/or surface drilling experience.
• Experience with contract management.
• Strong commitment to zero accidents and regulatory compliance.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with MS Office and AcQuire software.
• Familiar with exploration processes.
• Ability to travel locally on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

• Review project scopes of work and assist drill planning.
• Provide technical advice on drilling methods to meet objectives.
• Ensure drill sites are built to design parameters and ready for occupancy.
• Ensure drill rigs are properly set up.
• Provide detailed daily activity reporting.
• Report hole conditions, sample quality, recovery and delays.
• Liaise with Mine Operations personnel.
• Ensure downhole surveys meet client specs.
• Inspect equipment and laydown areas.
• Manage inventory of consumables.
• Participate in contractor safety meetings and investigations.
• Demonstrate visible leadership with drill contractors.
• Survey collar coordinates with a Trimble.
