Job summary

150 Primoris T&D Services, LLC is seeking a Drill Operator to operate and maintain drilling equipment across various projects. You will prepare sites, interpret blueprints, monitor operations, and ensure safety and compliance with company standards.

The role requires reading technical documents, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work outdoors in diverse weather. CDL is preferred, and pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Drill Operator, preferably with directional drilling experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of drilling techniques, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain drilling equipment, including directional, auger, and rock drills.
  • Prepare drill sites with setup, alignment checks, and pre-operational inspections.
  • Monitor drill operations, depths, pressure, and rotation; adjust as needed.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and utility maps to plan paths and avoid infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Document drilling progress, logs, and inspections.
  • Follow safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate with supervisors and crew effectively.
  • Assist with other construction tasks as required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a variety of drilling equipment, including but not limited to, directional drills, auger drills, and rock drills.
  • Prepare drill sites, including setting up equipment, ensuring proper alignment, and performing pre-operational checks.
  • Monitor drilling operations, including drill depth, pressure, and rotation, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and utility maps to determine drill path and avoid existing infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
  • Document drilling progress, daily logs, and equipment inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
