Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation in New York is seeking a Drill Operator to operate and maintain drilling equipment on construction sites, ensuring safety and efficiency in line with project specs.

You will read blueprints, prep drill sites, monitor depth and drill parameters, complete logs, and collaborate with supervisors and crew. Must pass background and drug tests; CDL preferred; willingness to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Drill Operator, preferably with directional drilling experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of drilling techniques, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a variety of drilling equipment, including but not limited to, directional drills, auger drills, and rock drills.
  • Prepare drill sites, including setting up equipment, ensuring proper alignment, and performing pre-operational checks.
  • Monitor drilling operations, including drill depth, pressure, and rotation, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and utility maps to determine drill path and avoid existing infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
  • Document drilling progress, daily logs, and equipment inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed.
