Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated in Prairieville, LA, is seeking a Drill Tech to assist the Driller in water well drilling operations and perform routine mechanical tasks at field sites.

You will follow safety and quality procedures, handle moving parts up to 50 lbs, operate equipment, and help prepare sites. A HS diploma or GED and the ability to travel are required; CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to travel and stay away up to 2 weeks.
• Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• CDL license is a plus but not required.
• Outdoor/construction site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe site.
• Lift and move drill pipe up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier components.
• Collaborate with drilling crew and work independently to meet project goals.
• Operate and maintain site equipment and vehicles.
• Transport rigs between sites and set up job sites.
• Complete daily paperwork for time and material records.
• Collect and label drill cuttings or water samples for analysis.
• Support team objectives and project success.
• Adhere to corporate safety initiatives.
