Kanaan Communications, LLC is hiring a Telecom Drill Bores Operator in Gaylord, MI. You will operate drill equipment to install underground telecom cables and infrastructure, determine bore paths, verify utilities, and maintain bore schedules.

The role requires working outdoors in all weather, performing site setup and equipment maintenance, and handling various duties as assigned. A valid US work authorization and relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Experience with drilling equipment and setup processes required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control drill equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to confirm bore path.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site setup, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid chauffeurs license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Class A Commercial driver's license preferred
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
