Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator to install underground telecommunications cables. You will determine bore paths, locate utilities, and operate drill equipment to complete assignments in various weather conditions.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment maintenance, and coordination of bore schedules, with opportunities for growth and hands-on training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience with drilling equipment, including bore path and setup processes.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; Class A CDL preferred.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid chauffeurs license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Class A Commercial driver's license preferred
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
