Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking an experienced Drill Bore Operator to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You’ll determine bore paths, locate utilities, and safely operate all drilling equipment to complete assigned tasks.

Qualified applicants will have 5+ years of drilling experience, a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it, valid work authorization in the United States, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Experience with drilling equipment and bore setup.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize Mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
