Job summary

RINA is seeking a Dredging Engineer to join our Environmental and Engineering Geoscience division with options to be based in Houston, Fort Lauderdale, or Chicago/Lisle. The role centers on dredging design, material placement, procurement, construction supervision, and project close-out across multiple North American sites.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in environmental or civil engineering (master’s preferred) with 10+ years in dredging design, sediment testing to USACE/EPA protocols,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in navigation and berth dredging design with construction involvement.
• Sediment testing to USACE and EPA protocols; dredged material placement design.
• Cost and production estimating for dredging works; dredging contract administration.
• Travel up to 25% for job sites; available for site presence during dredging campaigns.
• Texas PE license strongly preferred for sealing dredging design documents.
• Gulf Coast projects experience and active participation in dredging associations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dredge design and berth geometry planning; assess depths and transitions.
• Dredged material management and placement options; ensure compliance with 401/404 requirements.
• Develop dredging specifications, contract packages, and measurement rules.
• Supervise construction including pre-/during-/post-dredge surveys and monitoring.
• Close-out: final acceptance survey and handover of placement area records.
