Job summary

Curtin Maritime is seeking a Project Engineer to lead production and survey within dredging projects, providing technical expertise to the operations and admin teams. You will direct dig strategy, manage survey deliverables, and support the Project Manager with administrative duties on dredging jobsites.

The role follows a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation and requires travel to various project sites and our Long Beach, CA yard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 1+ years dredging experience as a Project Engineer or similar role.
• USACE CQM-C Certification.
• RMS competency and ability to update daily reports for clients.
• OSHA 30.
• Primavera P6 Certification.
• Develop SOPs for survey and engineering team.
• Understanding of pump dynamics, velocities, pipeline routes, and booster placements.
• Draft and update project schedules in conjunction with QC Manager.
• Generates volumes for pay applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage all survey assets.
• Develop dig strategy with project management.
• Analyze survey data to advise daily dredge plan.
• Responsible for all technical/operational aspects of survey in the assigned project within the guidelines set by the Project Manager and customer.
• Generate daily survey related deliverables and discuss survey results with Project Manager and crew.
• Perform survey related calculations.
• Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation within defined scope.
• Develop work plans and hazard analysis to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Resolve engineering, material and planning issues.
• Ensure implementation of improved engineering processes.
• Work with purchasing department on vessel specific purchases needed including sourcing from vendors and arranging shipment.
• Track, analyze and generate reports of project progress and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot & maintain survey and vessel positioning systems.
