Job summary

Ahtna, Inc is seeking a Deckhand to support marine dredging operations. The role involves line handling, anchor operations, general labor, and equipment support to keep vessels and sites safe and efficient.

The position offers pay ranging from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) with a 3% match, PTO, and company-paid holidays. 90%–100% travel is required across the Southern US, including Florida.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience working in the marine industry.
• Ability to take direction and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maneuver around equipment and personnel in close quarters.
• Assist with setting, retrieving, and securing anchors and lines.
• Support dredging operations by handling discharge and suction pipelines, floats, and other components.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties on vessels and barges.
• Properly wear, use, and maintain PPE, including respirators on HAZWOPER sites.
• Monitor the job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and take direction from supervisors and environmental staff.
• Learn and follow safety regulations and company procedures.
• Take proactive steps to avoid hazards such as utility lines, equipment, and falling objects.
• Coordinate actions with other crew members using hand or audio signals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
