Job summary

Ahtna, Inc. is seeking a Deckhand to support marine dredging operations. The role involves line handling, anchor work, general labor, and equipment support to maintain safe vessel and site operations. Travel will be 90–100% to project sites across Florida and the southeastern US.

The position pays $18.00-$25.00 per hour and offers medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) with a 3% match, PTO, and company-paid holidays.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working in the marine industry.
• Ability to take direction and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maneuver around equipment and personnel in close quarters.
• Assist with setting, retrieving, and securing anchors and lines.
• Support dredging operations by handling discharge and suction pipelines, floats, and other components.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties on vessels and barges.
• Wear and maintain PPE, including respirators on HAZWOPER sites.
• Monitor the job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with crew and take direction from supervisors.
• Learn and follow safety regulations and company procedures.
• Coordinate actions with other crew members using signals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
