Orion Marine Contractors Inc. in Tampa, FL is seeking a Dredge Project Engineer to provide project engineering support, develop bid packages, procure materials, interpret plans, and schedule activities for successful project delivery.

The role interfaces with Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen, emphasizing safety, integrity and timely close-out across marine construction projects. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Science with 2 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of project management & administration, cost control.
• Willing to travel and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Project Management Team to ensure successful project completion.
• Monitors actual costs and accounts for materials, services, labor and other costs.
• Develops bid packages for subcontractors.
• Procures subcontractors, materials, consumables and services as needed.
• Interprets project plans and specifications.
• Schedules project work activities to meet timelines.
• Interfaces with project team members, suppliers and customers.
• Ensures a safe work environment and promotes safe practices.
• Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives and compliance.
• Assists in developing bid proposals for marine construction and services.
