Job summary

PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. is seeking a Drayage Operation Coordinator to monitor and manage inbound containers.

The role tracks inland drayage from port or rail ramp to distribution centers and customer warehouses, coordinating with the drayage and import teams to ensure timely service. You will work with carriers, shipping lines, truckers and supply chain planners; share daily delivery schedules; analyze service and cost data for improvements; and document actions for management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience optimizing loading rate, transport time and logistics cost.
• Ability to balance time, budget and business objectives.
• Strong communication and analytical, data-driven approach.
• Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the drayage process of shipment movement
• Manage relationships with selected drayage carriers and internal/external customers
• Actively communicate with shipping lines, truckers, freight receivers and internal related parties including supply chain planners.
• Share daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers and distribution centers
• Analyze, create, edit, track and trace select service providers such as drayage carriers, rail companies, rail terminals
• Able to analyze service and cost data for actions or recommendations for business improvement
• Monitor account issues and communicate/liaison with management to implement/drive solutions
• Document corrective actions and improvement plans properly and verify plan's effectiveness.
• Perform other job-related duties as required

Job description – Drayage Operation Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drayage operation coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and managing inbound containers for company’s network. The Drayage Coordinator position is responsible for tracking and scheduling the inland drayage portion of import container movements from port or rail ramp to DCs and customer’s warehouse. This position will work with the members of other drayage operation team and import team to service with timely arranging containers. Drayage coordinator will report to drayage manager.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of international transportation (especially ocean shipping)
• Experience in establishing a transport plan that can optimize loading rate, transport time and logistics cost
• Ability to manage within goals by considering in time, budget and business objectives
• Analytical/focused/data-driven coupled with creative problem-solving skills
• Strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration, interpersonal, with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and other applications
• Prioritization skill, able to shift focus to urgent issues while not falling behind on other duties
• Handle high pressure and fast-paced operations as needed

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
• Must be detail oriented, highly reliable and efficient
