Job summary

Milliken & Company is seeking a Drawing Operator at the Two Rivers facility. The role emphasizes safety, quality adherence, and environmental responsibility while handling non-conforming materials and supporting production lines.

Responsibilities include creeling sliver, moving cans, cleaning the drawing area, and addressing creel breaks. The position requires standing/walking many hours and adherence to plant policies in a high-temperature, cotton-dust environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret instructions to identify non-conformities in the Quality System.
• Recognize color codes and indicators relevant to the drawing process.
• Use basic tools such as air hose and broom to manage the work area.
• Assist with lifting and pushing/pulling tasks safely as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all department safety rules in daily operations.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations while on site.
• Stand and walk for long shifts, approximately 10–11 hours.
• Creeling sliver and transporting full and empty cans.
• Clean drawing area and identify color bands and indicator lights.
• Repair creel breaks and respond to production signals.

JOB CLASSIFICATION

The operator has the responsibility to identify any non-conformity in the Quality System as it relates to their area of responsibility and report it to the Production Manager, P.I. Department or ISO Management representative.

POSITION REPORTS TO: VOH Supervisor

Position Overview

The Operator ensures adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental responsibilities as outlined in company policies and procedures and plant specific policies. Handle non-conforming materials by correcting issues or notifying supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
