Job summary

Milliken & Company is seeking an Associate 3: Machine Operator at the Hudson Plant to operate machinery and drive propane forklift, supporting yarn beam and knit roll handling.

You will maintain beam inventory, load and unload trailers, use a scan gun, and follow safety rules while standing and walking throughout shift; overtime may be required. Reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Maintain yarn beam in-house inventory and knit beam inventory.
• Receive beam inventory at dock from outside vendor.
• Maintain empty beam and rack storage area.
• Load beams and racks onto outgoing trailers.
• Pull knit rolls from in-house inventory for outbound trailers.
• Receive and unload miscellaneous items as needed.
• Use scan gun to monitor beam and knit roll inventory.
• Perform daily forklift check to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain a clean work area and observe safety rules.
• Perform other related duties as required.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and have the ability to drive propane forklift.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regular and predictable attendance

Material Handler:

• Maintain yarn beam in house inventory, knit machine beam inventory.
• Receive beam inventory at dock from outside vendor.
• Maintain empty beam and rack storage area.
• Load empty beam and racks onto outgoing scheduled trailer.
• Pull knit rolls from in house inventory to load onto designated out going trailer.
• Responsible for receiving and unloading miscellaneous items as needed.
• Use scan gun to monitor beam and knit roll inventory.
• Perform daily forklift check list to verify proper lift running conditions.
• Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety rules and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to operate motorized equipment
• Physical requirements: lift 25lbs, push 250lbs roll of fabric on cart, pull 50lbs, work (3) 12 hour shifts with extensive standing and walking.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing experience
• Textile knitting experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
