Job summary

Drape Kings in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a skilled Sewist to produce high-quality drapery and stage fabrics in a fast-paced environment. You will operate industrial sewing machines, measure and assemble fabric per work orders, and ensure craftsmanship meets specifications.

Candidates should have 2+ years sewing experience, read tape measures, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sewing experience preferred.
• Experience with industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and follow specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing equipment, including straight stitch and overlock.
• Measure, cut, sew, and finish fabric products according to work orders and specifications.
• Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship.
• Follow instructions and drawings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with fabric handling, material organization, and inventory as needed.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Support team members and assist with other fabrication tasks as assigned.
