Olympia School District is seeking a Drama Technical Assistant to support technical theatre activities, including stage management, safety, set construction, lighting and sound design for productions. The role involves supervising students, coordinating with the theatre troupe director, and ensuring safe practices in the scene shop and PAC spaces.
The position requires after-school hours 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with additional commitments during tech rehearsals and performances.
The job of “Drama Technical Assistant” is responsible for assisting with the elements of technical theatre including safety and stage management and set construction, properties, lighting and sound design and implementation. The Technical Assistant supports the technical crew members through the construction, rehearsal and performance phases of Olympia High School Drama Club/thespian productions.
Position works Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Prior experience working in technical theatre, familiarity with theatrical sound, lighting and rigging systems preferred.
