Job summary

HNTB in Lake Mary, FL, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead drainage design for transportation projects. You will work with OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D, develop scope and budgets, and mentor junior staff.

This role requires strong coordination with clients and multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring timely, on-budget deliverables. Candidates should hold an engineering degree with many years of relevant experience; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8+ years relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering with 7+ years; PhD with 6+ years.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in drainage design for transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline delivery on complex or unusual engineering projects.
• Oversee scope, schedule, and budget adherence for projects.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and effort with adherence to budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
• Coordinate technical aspects with client and teaming partners.
• Ensure quality and completeness of project deliverables.
