Job summary

HNTB in Lake Mary, FL is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to guide the East Florida drainage group through design, development and delivery of project tasks while managing scope, budget and quality control. This role emphasizes coaching and mentoring staff and ensuring high-quality service to clients on major infrastructure projects.

You will supervise 5–10 engineers, coordinate priorities and staffing, collaborate with other sections, and contribute to contracting and project delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of practical experience including 2 years of leadership experience.
• 10 years practical experience with 2 years supervisory experience.
• PE license preferred or required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Leads the section's operating budget and forecast updates.
• Manages succession planning, staff development and mentoring.
• Coordinates section activities, priorities and staffing to support projects.
• Supports strategic planning, SSA, and contracting processes for project pursuits.
• Oversees project delivery including scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Engages in marketing activities such as client discovery and proposal generation.
• Maintains client contacts to ensure satisfaction.
• Recruits, hires and retains staff across the section.
• Directly oversees 5–10 staff with supervision and performance reviews.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
