Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Drainage Designer/EIT-2 to join our growing team. You will design municipal and state projects, analyze hydrology and hydraulics, and prepare contract documents for streets, drainage, utilities, and traffic engineering.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering degree, EIT or PE progress, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Occasional travel within California and nearby states is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years civil experience with EIT OR 5+ years civil experience with advanced degree and international registration/chartering.
• Ability to pass the PE exam within a year or already have passed it.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Experience with OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D is a plus.
• Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, QGIS, Python is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Review hydrology and hydraulic reports.
• Develop hydrology and hydraulic models.
• Interpret design codes and prepare design calculations and project plans.
• Travel periodically within California and nearby states; perform fieldwork.
