Job summary

LSEngineers, Inc. is seeking a Drafting Technician Intern in Minnesota to assist in creating structural models and construction documents. You will coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals while developing your drafting skills.

The role emphasizes effective communication with staff and clients, supporting project delivery, and gaining hands-on experience in office, field, and site environments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in architectural or engineering drafting from an accredited college or university.
• Strong academic record with coursework in drafting and design.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Commitment to the success of the team and willingness to exchange knowledge.

• Assist in creating structural models for coordination and to create structural construction documents
• Coordination of work with other in-house technicians and structural engineering staff as well as other technicians and design professionals including architects and other engineering disciplines
• Clearly and openly communicate with staff and clients to understand projects and deliverables

Drafting Technician Intern Applicant Requirements

• Perusing an associate degree in architectural or engineering drafting from an accredited college or university
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and MS Office
• Strong academic record
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Commitment to the success of the team
• Willingness to exchange knowledge and information
• Self-motivated and willing to ask questions
• Well-organized
• Client-focused, solution-driven and service-oriented
• Eagerness and passion to grow as a drafting technician
• Ability to work in office, field and site environments with exposure to noise, dust, smoke and inclement weather.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk or bend for extended periods and lift/carry up to 20 pounds frequently with or without reasonable accommodation.
