Job description

Overview

Under the direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for performing plan reviews for accuracy, assists in the technical training of the drafting technicians, supervises the daily drafting tasks, and as needed interacts with other departments for clarification of information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Review plans for accuracy compared to quote, customer supplied drawings, production requirements, and purchasing requirements.
• Competently able to read, review, interpret, and clearly communicate with others state codes and requirements, including, but not limited to Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Energy, and Access.
• Assist in the technical training of the Drafting and Sales teams.
• Able to identify and communicate / address problems from possible unclear quotes, production difficulties, and misinterpretations.
• Able to assist department with drawings and / or redlines as needed. Other duties as assigned.
• Expected to: Work efficiently in a fast-paced all times. Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients. Be very detail oriented and well organized. Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills – verbal confidentiality. Be skilled at problem solving and analysis.

Qualifications

• Strong AutoCAD experience. Excel experience. COMche check and REScheck. Detail oriented and organized. Able to clearly communicate and direct the department. Able to clearly communicate with other departments as needed. Problem Solving. Driven and open to performing other tasks as needed.

Preferred Skills

Job Requirements

• Able to successfully pass a criminal background check (following a condition al offer of employment).
• Ability to sit/stand at desk/workstation for prolonged periods of time.
• Frequent use of hands/fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse; repetitive hand/wrist motions.
• Ability to view and interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications; ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time; close up vision requ ired for precision work.
