Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Drafting Engineer to support the FAA Engineering Services Group within the NISC program. You will develop site-specific drawings, perform surveys, and prepare documentation for contracting per FAA standards.

You will work with project engineers to deliver high-quality, FAA-compliant engineering drawings and cost estimates, while coordinating with inspection teams throughout construction and renovation phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering.
• Experience in Building Envelope Design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop site-specific project plans, drawings, and specifications used for engineering project solicitation and contracting.
• Conduct site surveys, gather field data, and research relevant standards, codes, and ordinances.
• Analyze survey findings and provide actionable recommendations and engineering solutions.
• Prepare trip reports within two business days including scope of work and ORM checklists.
• Provide inputs for PRs, NCPs, NAS documents, and government property lists.
• Create cost estimates, project schedules, and FAA-compliant assessments.
• Support construction/renovation phases, review shop drawings and proposals.
• Participate in JAI/CAI inspections and offer engineering recommendations.
• Conduct feasibility and cost-benefit studies.
• Create accurate FAA-compliant project drawings.
