Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is seeking a Mechanical Drafter I to support the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group. The Mechanical Drafter I will apply their drafting experience to support the Engineers and Team Members.

This person will be presented with various projects in the commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and education markets. The incumbent will draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers, participate in site surveys, and use

Qualifications

• AAS in CAD or 1-year certificate in CAD from a community college or technical school.
• 2+ years CAD drafting experience with AutoCAD/REVIT training.
• Ability to work autonomously based on experience.
• Knowledge of permitting submittals in the mechanical field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Senior Engineers by performing tasks and drafts.
• Produce detailed schematics for HVAC systems per instructions.
• Participate in job site surveys to collect as-built data.
• Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems from engineer direction.
• Convert field surveys into usable formats and develop plans in AutoCAD.
• Maintain CAD standards and CAD Detail Library; contribute to project improvements.
• Other duties such as document prep and submittal package assembly.

Job Summary

This position will provide drafting and engineering support to the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group. The Mechanical Drafter I will apply their drafting experience to support the Engineers and Team Members. This person will be presented with various projects in the commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and education markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director.
• Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.
• Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers.
• Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans.
• Participate in the company’s project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards.
• Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a 1-year certificate program from a community college or technical school, focusing on CAD software, design fundamentals, and blueprint reading
• 2+ years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion.
• Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.
• Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.
• Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)

Compensation Range: $29 - $34 per hour
