MacLean Power Systems (MPS) seeks a Drafter Designer to develop CAD models and detailed drawings that support prototypes, final designs, production and quality specifications. • Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for product development.
• Assist engineers with troubleshooting and testing activities.
• Prepare layouts and assembly drawings; take project from concept to production release.
• Maintain CAD files and verify data in the Product Data Management system.
• Ensure accuracy of product specifications and documentation.
• Adhere to 5S standards and safety, environmental, and quality policies.

Drafter Designer - Royal Switchgear

Performs design and/or drafting assignments.

Job Duties

• Interact with the development, programmer, and manufacturing engineer to develop CAD models and engineering drawings to support the production of prototypes, final design, manufacturing and quality specifications
• Responsible for the creation of 3D computer aided design (CAD) software models and detailed drawings for development of products
• Assist engineers with hands-on troubleshooting efforts from production, prototypes and processes
• Assist engineers with testing, process development/ process modifications and engineering documentation
• Develop layouts, engineering drawings, detailed drawings and assembly drawings
• Take project from concept to production release
• Perform maintenance of CAD files in response to engineering changes
• Interface with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to product specification is documented accurately
• Verify that the appropriate linkages are established in the Product Data Management system when creating/modifying models and drawings
• Prepare bill of materials for product implementation into production
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

• Perform work under direct supervision
• Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
• Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
• Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experience
