AtErvin Cable Construction, LLC. seeks a Drafter/Designer to map, draft, and design OSP networks using CAD tools to meet telecom requirements and permitting standards.

The role focuses on producing accurate network layouts, prints, and supporting construction documentation. You will collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams, coordinate with permitting agencies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules, including RUS.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required or 3+ years telecom OSP design/engineering experience.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Mansioni

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software.
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction and permitting agencies.
• Prepare documentation, materials lists, and labor quantities for work packages.
• Ensure designs comply with company standards and local, state, and federal regulations (including RUS).
• Provide documentation for cost-effective placement of communication facilities.
• Meet project deadlines and complete tasks under tight timelines.

What you’ll do

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
• Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
• Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred

Knowledge of

• Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Government permit requirements
• OSP Communications Design systems
• Applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
• Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
