Your responsibilities include creating accurate network maps, layouts, drawings, and detailed electronic construction prints to meet customer expectations.

What you’ll do as a Drafter Designer

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs using various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction departments and permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reports to support work packages, such as bills of materials and labor quantities
• Ensure facility designs comply with company standards and local, state, and federal regulations, including RUS requirements
• Provide documentation for cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and complete tasks under tight timelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred

Knowledge of

• Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial, buried, and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Government permit requirements
• OSP Communications Design systems
• Applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium, and Varasset
• Fiber optic counts, assignments, and splicing schematics in high-density environments

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
