Experienced Civil - Site Drafter / Designer

We are seeking an Experienced Civil - Site Drafter / Designer to work out of our Framingham, Chicago, or Orlando office. This role may be remote depending on the candidate.

As an experienced designer in site civil work, you will coordinate directly with civil engineers supporting our substation/transmission site development group, creating site plans, grading and drainage plans, and site development details. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to take direction from engineers to start projects using survey data, substation overlays, aerial photography, and general topography to create comprehensive drawing packages. Attention to detail and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D are essential. Effective communication and teamwork are required.

Primary Tasks

• Prepare site design drawings, models of site plans, grading and drainage drawings, and site details with high precision.
• Develop and manage AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and standards for client-specific projects.
• Ensure engineering design details are properly represented for new substations and site expansion projects.
• Exercise good judgment in selecting and interpreting survey data.
• This position may lead to supervisory roles.

Basic Qualifications

• Level 1: Associate's degree in Engineering Tech or CAD-related discipline (High School diploma with CAD certificate and relevant experience may suffice).
• Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years relevant experience in site development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Bentley In-Roads and AutoTURN.
• Experience in the utility market.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication skills.
