Job summary

ARCXIS is seeking a Drafter 1 to convert field data into basic survey drafts under supervision. You will learn company standards and the legal requirements of land surveying while drafting in CAD.

Responsibilities include processing field notes, drafting boundary and residential surveys, and labeling lines and setbacks. High school is required; CAD certificate or associat es recommended; AutoCAD skill is essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High school.
• Recommend: CAD certificate or associate in drafting or design.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Fundamental understanding of distances, bearings, and units of measure.
• High attention to detail and a willingness to follow drafting standards.

• Process raw field notes and data collector files into CAD environments.
• Draft basic boundary surveys, residential lot surveys, and Final Surveys.
• Perform basic line work and labeling of easements, building lines, and setbacks.
• Identify and report discrepancies in field data to the Drafter 2 or RPLS.

Overview:

The Drafter 1 is an entry-level position focused on converting field data into basic survey drafts. Under the direct supervision of senior staff, this individual learns the company’s standards and the fundamental legal requirements of land surveying.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process raw field notes and data collector files into CAD environments.
• Draft basic boundary surveys, residential lot surveys, and Final Surveys.
• Perform basic "line work" and labeling of easements, building lines, and setbacks.
• Identify and report discrepancies in field data to the Drafter 2 or RPLS.
