Job summary

Topographic, Inc. is seeking a Drafting Technician II to prepare drawings (plan, elevation, profile views, details) for survey projects and to process redlines from QC/PLS and project teams to finalize deliverables.

The role requires knowledge of industry procedures, the ability to perform self QC, and the incorporation of surveyor’s and client standards. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson (or equivalent) is essential.

Qualifications

  • Drafting technician duties and deliverables must align with company standards.
  • Self QC and error reduction is required.
  • Ability to interpret client and engineer markups.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson is required.

Job description

Work with project teams to prepare and finalize project deliverables and contract documents in accordance with the company standards, municipal/jurisdictional requirements, survey standards, and client requirements.

Employees, Managers, and Supervisors throughout the corporation.

MAJOR TASKS

  • Drafting Technician II prepares various drawings (plan, elevation, profile views, details, and notes) for survey projects. Processing redlined drawings from QC, PLS, and/ or project teams to finalize deliverables. Various other duties as assigned.
  • Work requires knowledge/use of techniques, working knowledge of procedures and terms of the industry.
  • The ability to perform a self QC review on your completed assignments, to reduce errors.
  • Able to incorporate surveyor’s/engineer’s markups.
  • Able to interpret and incorporate client’s standards.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Carlson (or equivalent).
  • Productive with Adobe Acrobat, MS Office and Google Earth.
  • Proficient with reference files and drawing to scale.
  • Completes assignments from Drafting Manager or assigned lead with minimal guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)

EDUCATION REQUIRED

HS Diploma

EDUCATION PREFERRED

Associates degree in Surveying

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

Drafter Certification

STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE

Topographic OM, Inc. in office Standard business hours is Monday-Friday from 6am-7pm.

The specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.
