Job summary

The City of Bangor is accepting applications for a full-time Department of Public Works employee to maintain and operate city streets, water and sewer systems, parks, facilities, equipment, and other public infrastructure.

This position involves year-round outdoor work, operation of vehicles and equipment, and responding to the day-to-day needs of the community. Starting wage ranges from $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, with a Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
• Experience in public works, construction, or equipment operation preferred.
• Water and/or wastewater experience or certifications preferred.
• Ability to obtain additional licenses and certifications as required.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather.
• Team player with dependable work ethic.
• Applications encouraged from those with municipal experience.

This position performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance and operation of City streets, water and sewer systems, parks, facilities, equipment, and other public infrastructure. The position involves year-round outdoor work, operation of vehicles and equipment, and responding to the day-to-day needs of the community.

Starting Wage: $19.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications:
