Job summary

City of South Lyon seeks a maintenance worker to operate and maintain a range of equipment and perform critical street, building, water and sewer work. You will assist with construction projects and help keep parks, trails, and landscaped areas clean and welcoming for residents.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, a clean valid driver's license, and legal eligibility to work in the U.S. A Michigan CDL-B with air brake endorsement is preferred and must be obtained within 6 months

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Clean and valid driver's license required.
• Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
• Current Michigan CDL-B with air brake endorsement preferred.
• Must obtain CDL-B with air brake endorsement within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, snow plows, tractors, mowers).
• Perform essential street and building maintenance tasks.
• Assist with general construction projects across city properties.
• Install and repair water and sewer infrastructure.
• Maintain parks, trails, and landscaped areas for a clean and welcoming community.
