Job Summary

Physical Therapist role: Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting assessments, determining treatment goals, administering manual exercises, and instructing patients in activities and assistive devices.

Responsibilities

• Complete billing sheets accurately by end of day.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Perform patient assessments and establish a plan of care.
• Provide in‑service education programs for nursing personnel as needed.
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
• Discuss evaluations, goals, and treatments with patients and families.
• Participate in hospital‑wide quality process improvement.
• Supervise PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: Enrollment in final year of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
• Licenses and credentials: Massachusetts PT license required prior to start; Basic Life Support (AHA) required; Class D passenger vehicle driver’s license preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years completing internship or apprenticeship program preferred; experience in lieu of a completed degree not accepted.

Compensation & Benefits
