Job summary

Alamo Colleges District seeks security officers to patrol campuses and protect people and property. You will perform enforcement and crime-prevention duties under the District Department of Public Safety.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, two years of peace officer experience, and a valid driver license with insurability. TCOLE certification is preferred; background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED).
• Two years of experience as a licensed peace officer.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver license; insurable by the organization's insurers.
• Licensed as a peace officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or completed the TCOLE reactivation exam two+ years ago.
• Prefer Basic Peace Officer certification by the TCOLE.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and provides enforcement, detection and crime-prevention duties for faculty, staff, students, visitors and property.
• Reports to the District Department of Public Safety.
• Motor Vehicle Report required along with background check and drug screen.
