Job Summary

Responsible for the direct supervision of police officers,security personnel, and civilian employees of the departmentengaged in, and in support of, the protection of life and propertywithin areas under the jurisdiction of The University of TexasSystem. Exercises independent judgment within limits prescribed bylaw, Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations, and ODOP-approvedpolicies and procedures. Serves as a Campus Security Authority(CSA) under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policyand Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Maintains the highestethical standards and ensures that all subordinate personnel upholdODOP and institutional values of integrity, respect,accountability, and service.

Core Responsibilities

1. Performs all peace officer duties as required.
2. Supervise and participate in law enforcement and securityoperations to preserve peace, prevent crime, and enforce applicablelaws and regulations.
3. Direct and review criminal investigations, traffic enforcement,safety initiatives, and enforcement of the Rules and Regulations ofthe Board of Regents.
4. Monitor officer and security personnel performance; providecoaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed to ensurecompliance with ODOP policies and institutional regulations.
5. Prepare and review operational and administrative reports;analyze workloads and plan work schedules to maintain effectivestaffing.
6. Maintain awareness of departmental policies, legal updates, andensure staff understanding and compliance.
7. Provide training, mentorship, and leadership development forassigned personnel, fostering professionalism and ethicalaccountability.
8. Coordinate with other law enforcement agencies and Universitydepartments to support safe and effective operations.
9. Conduct inspections, audits, or special investigations asdirected.
10. Serve on committees or working groups related to safety,policy, or emergency preparedness.
11. Assist in the selection, background investigation, andonboarding of personnel.
12. Attend professional development programs to maintaincertifications and leadership competency.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory oradministrative authority.

Required Qualifications

• Sixty (60) college credit hours from an accredited institutionof higher education and three (3) years of full-time, continuousservice as a commissioned peace officer. Service may be with anystate, local, or federal law enforcement agency meeting applicableprofessional standards OR
