Job summary

Allen Park Downtown Development Authority seeks a Director and CEO to guide economic revitalization for the Downtown District. The role serves as the primary liaison among boards, agencies, and local businesses, and oversees staff, vendors, and contractors to implement development plans.

The successful candidate will manage budgeting, grant administration, and strategic planning while promoting business attraction, retention, and community engagement in Allen Park.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five or more years in economic/community development or municipal work.
• Experience supervising staff and contractors preferred.
• Knowledge of municipal planning, land-use, and public funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead economic development and business attraction strategies for the Downtown District.
• Oversee budgeting, administration, and capital needs assessments for the DDA.
• Collaborate with state/federal agencies, attorneys, planners, and officials on development projects.
• Develop marketing and public relations materials for the DDA.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and act as liaison to the City Council.
