Job summary

The City of Eugene is seeking a Downtown Manager to lead the Economic Prosperity team and drive initiatives for a vibrant downtown Eugene. You will collaborate with community groups, business owners, property owners, developers, and other agencies to implement programs and partnerships in the Downtown Plan area.

The ideal candidate has extensive project management experience, supervisory background, and a strong urban planning/administration foundation.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in project management or program administration.
• At least one year of supervisory or program experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or closely related field, AND four (4) years of professional experience in downtown management OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.
• Requires a valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inter-departmental and inter-agency collaboration in the Downtown Plan area.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to support a vibrant downtown Eugene.
• Coordinate with the department’s Public Information Officer to implement Downtown communications and act as spokesperson.
• Lead placemaking, programming, and management efforts for safety, cleanliness, and activity downtown.
