Job summary

City of Georgetown is seeking a Preservation & Redevelopment Program Manager to serve as the technical expert for downtown planning, architectural design and historic preservation. You will coordinate the Historic Preservation Program and act as staff liaison to HARC, guiding development reviews within Downtown and Old Town Overlay districts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a planning-related field and at least four years of professional planning or preservation experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Historic Preservation/History or related field.
  • Four years of full-time progressively responsible professional work experience in planning or historic preservation goals and urban design.
  • Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Experience in design review in historic districts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, promote, and implement the City’s Historic Preservation Program.
  • Lead Downtown Redevelopment Planning projects.
  • Review and advise on historic preservation policies, site plans, and code guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff, City Council, and boards/committees.
  • Interact with property owners and developers on preservation policies.
