Job summary

UrbanForm Developments seeks a Preservation Architect to lead preservation, restoration, and conservation of historic buildings in the US. You will assess structures, develop plans, and work with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure faithful rehabilitation and compliance with preservation standards.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a degree in Architecture, CAD proficiency, and strong project management and communication skills. Visa/work eligibility in the US is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Preservation Architect on historical building projects.
• Extensive knowledge of historic preservation principles, methods, materials, and techniques.
• Proficient in CAD software and other architectural design tools.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine preservation needs.
• Develop preservation plans and strategies for protection and conservation.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and professionals to implement preservation plans.
• Research construction materials, techniques, and historical significance to inform preservation efforts.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects.
• Oversee construction work to ensure adherence to historic preservation guidelines and standards.
• Monitor the progress of preservation projects and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Manage budgets and project timelines for preservation projects.
