Job summary

Streetplus is seeking a Community Engagement Ambassador to support Downtown Worcester during the seasonal Oct–Dec period. You will engage with businesses, residents, and visitors, provide directions and local information, and help keep the area welcoming and safe during evening hours.

This role is outdoors, part-time (Th-Sat 7:00pm–1:30am per the listing) and requires a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Lift up to 25 lbs.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Basic smartphone proficiency.
• Background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Engage with businesses, residents, visitors, and community partners in a professional and approachable manner.
• Provide directions, local information, community resources, and general assistance.
• Conduct regular business and property check-ins and address reported quality-of-life concerns.
• Professionally engage individuals experiencing homelessness who are occupying entrances and relocate while connecting them with outreach or support services.
• Observe and report safety, sanitation, maintenance, and quality-of-life concerns.
• Support community events, festivals, outreach initiatives, and special projects.
• Document community interactions, business contacts, incidents, outreach efforts, and service requests.
• Coordinate with StreetPlus management, public safety partners, businesses, and community organizations.
• Maintain professionalism, respect, good judgment, and appropriate boundaries during all public interactions.
