Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a General Manager for The Midland Hotel in Chicago. You will lead overall operations, strategy, and growth of the property, guiding guest experiences, and financial performance in a high-volume setting.

The role requires a proven hospitality leadership track record, 10+ years in hotels, and a degree in Hospitality or Travel & Tourism; Marriott experience is preferred, with knowledge of Power of M, Lightspeed and CI/TY valued.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a successful leader in a busy downtown hotel.
• At least 10 years of progressive hospitality experience in hotels.
• College degree or equivalent in Hospitality or Travel & Tourism.
• Marriott brand experience strongly preferred.
• Power of M, Lightspeed and CI/TY knowledge preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: develop and execute a growth plan for the hotel.
• Team Leadership: mentor department heads and staff; foster collaboration.
• Operations Management: oversee front office, maintenance, F&B, and more.
• Financial Management: manage budget, pricing, and profitability.
• Guest Experience: ensure personalized service and guest satisfaction.
• Facilities Management: maintain assets and drive sustainability.
• Regulatory Compliance: stay updated on local regulations and safety.
