Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Downstream Process Scientist to support viral vector manufacturing at our Spring House, PA site. You will execute Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) operations, support clarification, nuclease treatment, filtration, and AKTA-based chromatography, and document process data in electronic notebooks.

Qualified candidates hold a life sciences degree with 2+ years downstream experience; protein/biologics purification and chromatography knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences with 2+ years downstream experience; Master’s degree with 0–2 years experience.
• Hands-on purification of proteins or biologics is required.
• Broad knowledge in chromatography techniques and purification process development.
• Ability to document work accurately in notebooks, protocols, reports, and electronic systems.
• Strong scientific, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Execute Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) operations, including setup, processing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Support downstream processing activities: Clarification, Nuclease Treatment, Filter Screening, Sterile Filtration and AKTA-based chromatography.
• Perform and support column packing activities.
• Capture, maintain, and document process parameters and analytical data in the Master Data File.
• Assist with inventory management and procurement to ensure material availability.
• Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity.
• Report findings to the project team and write technical documents.

This role is expected to perform experiments to support downstream process development activities for viral vectors manufacturing.

• Execute Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) operations, including system setup, processing, monitoring, and documentation
• Support downstream processing activities, including Clarification, Nuclease Treatment, Fitler Screening, Sterile Filtration and AEX chromatography (both manual and AKTA-based operations)
• Perform and support column packing activities
• Capture, maintain, and document process parameters and analytical data within the project Master Data File
• Assist with inventory management and the procurement of project supplies to ensure material availability and operational continuity
• Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity and accuracy
• Report/summarize findings to the project team
• Write technical documents and main work records in electronic notebooks

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related scientific discipline is required with 2+ years of direct Downstream experience, Masters degree with 0-2 years experience

Hands-on experience in purification of proteins or biologics is required

Broad knowledge in chromatography techniques and purification process development is required

Ability to document work accurately in notebooks, protocols, reports, and electronic systems

Strong scientific, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Experience:

GMP knowledge and experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.

Previous experience with transfer of a purification process to clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing is preferred

This position is Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Spring House, PAare encouraged to apply.
