Job summary

Lundbeck LLC in Washington state is seeking a Development Associate I Downstream Process Development to join a team of scientists and engineers advancing therapeutic biologics through preclinical and clinical stages.

The role focuses on purifying proteins to support downstream processes, with collaboration across upstream, bioanalytical, analytical, and formulation teams, and involves hands-on lab work and data communication.

Qualifications

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of chromatography, membrane filtration, protein chemistry, or related principles.
• Familiarity with pH, conductivity, temperature meters, pumps, gauges, pipettes, centrifuges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple priorities in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs small-scale downstream process development experiments for monoclonal antibody purification.
• Prepares process intermediates and samples for analytical testing.
• Prepares purified proteins for development studies and cross-functional activities.
• Conducts analytical measurements (UV-Vis, turbidimetry, density, pH, conductivity).
• Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and other process development members.
• Manages multiple lab activities with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Communicates progress, observations, scheduling needs, and challenges to teammates.
• Prepares summaries, presentations, and reports of experimental results.
