Job summary

Schneider Electric seeks a Supply Chain Planner to help launch and scale a new engineer-to-order manufacturing plant in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. You will lead downstream planning, ensure material availability and on-time delivery, and work with cross-functional teams to drive ramp-up success.

You will monitor start-up performance, implement improvements to increase output, manage production complexity, and support ERP data integrity in SAP S/4HANA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Experience with manufacturing planning, scheduling, and production processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis/visualization tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, AutoCAD, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the launch and ramp-up of a new engineer-to-order manufacturing plant and new production lines.
  • Lead and support downstream planning to ensure smooth flow of orders, focusing on material availability, on-time delivery, and managing production complexity.
  • Monitor start-up performance and implement improvements to increase output and reduce back orders.
  • Lead the Master Production Planning process in partnership with cross-functional teams and align with production standards.
  • Develop and maintain value stream maps and drive initiatives to reduce lead times.
  • Monitor and improve downstream supply chain performance at the plant level.
  • Champion continuous improvement by tracking key metrics: On-Time Delivery, Lead Time, Inventory.
  • Contribute to new product introduction by evaluating manufacturability and feasibility.
  • Maintain and update SAP S/4HANA orders and routing information.
  • Possibly lead downstream planners and production schedulers.

Job description

Join our new Plant 2 facility in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and play a key role in launching and scaling production operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a start-up manufacturing environment, helping establish downstream planning processes and supporting a successful production.

This position is part of a plant ramp-up initiative and will play a key role in establishing processes, supporting operational growth, and driving successful production scale-up from day one.

What will you do?
  • Support the launch and ramp-up of a new engineer-to-order manufacturing plant and new production lines.
  • Lead and support the downstream planning team to ensure a smooth flow of orders through production, with a focus on material availability, on-time delivery, and effective management of production complexity.
  • Monitor production start-up performance and implement improvements that increase output and reduce back order volume.
  • Lead the Master Production Planning process in partnership with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with established production system standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain value stream maps for current and future manufacturing processes and drive initiatives that reduce product lead times through cross-functional improvement plans.
  • Monitor and improve downstream supply chain performance at the plant level.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by tracking and improving key operational metrics, including:
    • Internal Supplier Service Rating
    • Back Order Lines
    • On-Time Delivery
    • Customer Lead Time
    • Days of Inventory
    • Net Inventory
    • Finished Goods Inventory
    • Excess and Obsolete Inventory
  • Contribute to new product introduction activities by evaluating manufacturability and production feasibility.
  • Maintain and update Enterprise Resource Planning systems, including SAP S/4HANA, by adjusting production orders and routing information as needed to support engineering changes and planning strategies.
  • Depending on organizational needs and team structure, this role may include direct leadership responsibilities for downstream planners and production schedulers.

What qualifications will help you be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with manufacturing planning, scheduling, and production processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience with Structured Query Language, Tableau, AutoCAD, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
