Job summary

Maker's Pride in Michigan City, IN is seeking a Scaler to accurately scale and weigh ingredients for dough mixtures in our Mixing department. This role ensures the highest quality of products produced and packaged at the plant.

The incumbent will follow exact formulas, prepare scales, weigh ingredients, record data, and comply with GMP and safety standards. Second shift, overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–1 year experience in a manufacturing environment; baking industry a plus.
• Basic math and reading skills required.
• Ability to measure and read scales and thermometers; understands units of measurement.
• Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts, weekends and overtime; follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Check schedule to determine ingredients/amounts to scale weighing.
• Prepare scales for weighing process.
• Select specified ingredients for dough mixture.
• Accurately weigh each ingredient per formulas.
• Record shift, ingredients and initials on bags.
• Follow GMPs and safety regulations; work with minimal supervision.
