Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Texas seeks a qualified CDL truck driver to join our team. You will complete delivery paperwork, perform pre-trip inspections, and deliver products to customers and jobsites within the region.

Requirements include a valid Class A CDL, at least 21 years old, ability to lift up to 65 lbs, and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather. We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus, Day 1 benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred)
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to perform tasks outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip, in-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region
• Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs per state and federal regulations
• Operate vehicles using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and safety dashcams
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation
• Work flexible hours based on business needs

What You'll Need

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to speak and understand English language in verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
