Job summary

Commercial Metals Company seeks a confident CDL driver to join our Hawaii operations. You will deliver products to customers and jobsites within the region, perform daily inspections, and maintain accurate paperwork.

This role requires lifting up to 65 lbs, outdoor work in all weather, and strict adherence to safety rules. You must hold a valid Class A CDL, pass DOT medical and drug tests, and have at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred).

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience; 3 years flatbed OTR preferred.
• Lift up to 65 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be at least 21 years old; pass DOT physicals and drug testing.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip, inter-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles using ELDs and safety dashcams (training provided).
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, and safe ascent/descent.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe transportation per regulations.
• Work flex hours based on business needs.

What You'll Need

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to speak and understand English language in verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years
• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred)
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs/ladders, works with chains/strap, performs inspections

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
