Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Seguin, TX seeks a delivery driver with a Class A CDL to support regional customer deliveries and on-site operations. You will complete delivery paperwork, perform pre-trip inspections, and deliver products to jobsites while maintaining safety and compliance.

The role requires a CDL-A, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and knowledge of DOT rules. Training is provided for ELD use and safety equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip, intra-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE as required.
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs per state and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and safety dashcams (training provided).
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, sideboard kits use, and safe entries/exits.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per regulations.
• Work flexible hours and be available based on business needs.

What You'll Need

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to speak and understand English language in verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years
• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred)
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs/ladders, works with chains/strap, performs inspections

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
